  • April 25       Underwater IVD Competition Northern Michigan University, Marquette

    Underwater Innovative Vehicle Design Competition – Fourth through twelfth grade student teams from around the state will compete to solve underwater challenges with their student-built remotely operated vehicles. 9am-4pm Admission is free.

  • May 20       Innovative Vehicle Design Challenge Competition Day – Kettering University, Flint

    Join us for a great day of friendly ground vehicle competitions – Full Scale Electric Vehicles, Autonomous Vehicles, and Mini IVD (RC) Racing will heat up the tracks!  9am to 4pm Admission is free, join us for a great day!

  •  June 9-12. Automobili-D at North American International Auto Show, Detroit MI

    The Square One team will showcase the innovative talents of today’s youth in our exhibit space, focusing on connected and autonomous vehicle technology.

  • June 25      Tivitz Math Workshop – Waterford, Michigan

    Tivitz is a unique math and strategy board game that supports students in improving their computational math skills while providing classroom teachers with a formative assessment tool.  Teachers should attend in pairs, each pair leaves with a classroom set of 15 games (a $500 value). Space is limited to the first ten schools.  9am to 11:30am $25/school

  • July 14-15  Underwater ROV Teacher Workshop – Oak Park

    Underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) engineering is a unique platform to teach applied science, engineering practices, and environmental studies. Teachers return to their classrooms with a fully functioning ROV to excite and engage students. Participants attend in teams of two or three, and will receive all materials to build their own ROV.

  • July 23        Intro to Arduino Teacher Workshop – SE Michigan

    Arduino micro-controller technology provides the ability to fully customize science demonstration and data collection tools in a very affordable way.  Participants will be introduced to Arduino and sensor hardware and programming, will build a fully functioning data logger of their choice, and will discuss applications for a variety of classroom contexts.

    Join us to learn more about Square One Programs and their applications in STEM classrooms

  • Aug 11-13  Modeling – Masters of Mobility Workshop – Oakland Schools, Waterford

    In this workshop, novice or experienced programmers will utilize Arduino hardware and programming, creating digital demonstration & data collection tools, to investigate wave phenomena as part of a Modeling storyline with a Connected & Autonomous Vehicle (CAV) theme.

  • Sept 29       Full Scale IVD Kickoff Workshop – Kettering University, Flint

    Become a part of the Square One Education Network’s premiere signature series programming — build a kart size electric vehicle with a focus on energy efficiency and vehicle dynamics.  IVD Programs provide an underlying competitive project to address NGSS Engineering Practices.

  • Oct 4-8       ITS World Congress – Los Angeles

    Our top Autonomous IVD Teams from across the country will compete in the National AIVD Finals at ITS World Congress

  • Oct 19        Mini IVD Kickoff Workshop – Clinton Twp., MI

    Become a part of the Square One Education Network’s premiere signature series programming — experience the rush of physical science while tweaking a 1/10th scale RC vehicle.  IVD Programs provide an underlying competitive project to address NGSS Engineering Practices.

  • Oct 28        Autonomous IVD Kickoff Workshop – Ypsilanti, MI

    Become a part of the Square One Education Network’s premiere signature series programming — design and program an autonomous vehicle using a Power Wheels Jeep. IVD Programs provide an underlying competitive project to address NGSS Engineering Practices.

  • Nov 6-7      Intermediate ROV Teacher Workshop – SE Michigan

    This workshop will prepare teachers to introduce a higher level of sophistication to their ROV projects, embracing digital motor control, communication, and data collection.

  • Nov 17-18   Masters of Mobility – Connected & Autonomous Vehicle Workshop Part One – Ann Arbor, Michigan

    Masters of Mobility consists of two 2-day workshops that incorporate computer programming, electronics, raspberry pi, Arduino, and robotics technology through sample lessons and classroom gear provide cutting edge connected vehicle science.   Supported by Washtenaw Community College.
