Full Scale Innovative Vehicle Design Challenge

Square One’s Full Scale Innovative Vehicle Design Challenge inspires teams of high school students to transform a gas-powered go-kart kit or build a car from the ground up into an electric or hybrid electric vehicle, featuring an innovative component that sets it apart from the rest.  Emphasis is on leading edge industry needs – light weight and sensor technologies.

Student teams will compete Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Kettering University, Flint MI with awards presented in performance, engineering and craftsmanship, design innovation, ambassadorship and presentation categories.  Cost to participate is $7,900.  This includes a full day of hands on training for 1-2 teachers per school along with five high school team members, chassis kit, project parameters, innovation budget and one competition.  Square One will provide fundraising ideas and letters of support.   Program launches with professional development in early October.  Payment is due January 20, 2019.
